Fun, Colourful Summerhill Bowling Club, Newcastle Wedding!!
Alex was someone else I vaguely knew from being in local bands so was super excited when she got in touch about me photographing her and Jon’s wedding. We arranged to meet up at The Journey in Newcastle for a coffee and although we’d never held a conversation before we just chatted for hours about what I was doing, what they were doing, comedy, pizza, the wedding and it was all so very exciting, I left like YES they’re awesome – this wedding is going to be awesome!!! They got married at the amazing Summerhill Bowling Club in Newcastle. I absolutely LOVE this venue. It’s such an amazing space so close to the city centre but without those city centre feels. There is SOOO much scope for making your wedding here completely YOU. Alex and Jon went for colour and pom poms which I absolutely adored. It was so colourful and DIY (the poms poms and the cake were made by family members) and as amazing as I expected.
The Morning of/The Ceremony!
We had arranged to meet up at their house for some first look pictures. When I arrived Jon was walking about the place while Alex was hiding in the front room getting ready. It was funny listening to them shout stuff to each other. When Alex was ready I took Jon outside into the garden where Alex walked out – it was the first time Jon had seen her in her dress and it was so amazing – the emotions were perfect! We then all headed down to Summerhill Bowling Club for the wedding! They got married in front of their immediate family – it was such a lovely ceremony where I’m pretty sure I caught every emotion going from the happy tears to the laughter. It was an absolute joy. Alex and Jon have chose to keep these photos private so they forever have the intimacy of the amazing ceremony but don’t worry – I’ve got all the daytime fun and the best dance moves to share with you all!!
After the Ceremony
We stayed at Summerhill Bowling Club all day and had a few hours to wait until the evening guests arrived. During this time, Alex and Jon had a walk around and had some time to themselves after the wedding before returning to do some gorgeous couple shots, amazing confetti photos and some family shots as well as eating the most amazing buffet!
The Evening Bit
What a party this was – I could tell as soon as the guests started arriving that they were a FUN bunch, It was one of those evenings were there was SOO much to capture – lots of laughter, funny faces, the best dance moves, sprinkler running, more gorgeous couple photos, pizza and a brass brand who played Rage Against the Machine – what more could you ask for! <3
